Purpose of the position

Assist the Project Management team in the proper budgeting and cost controlling of the Project, as well as in providing the proper contractual framework to both employer and subcontractors.

Detailed activities to be provided

To work as part of the Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying related functions including, but not limited to the following:

  • Implementing best practice commercial processes and provide accurate budgeting
  • Implementing automated cost tracking (SAGE), and monitor utilization within the construction department
  • Timely drafting of Contracts, and ensuring compliance
  • Verifying and certifying payment applications from consultants and subcontractors
  • Providing contractual overviews through summary spreadsheets
  • Procurement – management and finalizing contracts of suppliers & sub-contractors ensuring compliance, cost and quality are met in conjunction with the procurement department
  • Managing and forecasting the Cash flow of projects
  • Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable monthly reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Contract Program /Schedule and provide weekly reports to construction team on planned versus actual progress

Skills Knowledge required

  • 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • A minimum of 3-5 years commercial experience.
  • Excellent command of the Microsoft package, with high proficiency for Excel
  • Good experience on Sage budgeting and cost control package
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Legal and commercial knowledge applied to construction contracts (FIDIC)
  • Driver’s license
