Quantity Surveyor - Civil

Who you’ll be working for:
A Top Tier, Main Civil Contractor, with offices in Ireland and the UK, currently working on various large projects across these areas, such as Roads, Water, Wind Farms, Water and Gas pipeline, etc.

Due to a number of successful tendering processes, they have a current requirement for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on projects across the West of Scotland. A permanent position, working on £multi-million heavy civil projects.

Accommodation and Travel provided for this role, working on a rotational basis. Candidates based locally are also encouraged to apply.

What you’ll need to have:
The successful candidate will have a construction / Civil engineering / Quantity surveying degree, 4+ years heavy civil experience working as a quantity surveyor with experience developing claims in FIDIC contracts, preferably with main contractor experience and ideally with water / utilities / Gas / pipe line experience.

Key career experience will include:
  • Experience of pricing and preparing Tenders, budgets and cost plans.
  • Experience of Sage systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project/Primavera would be an advantage.
  • Carry out the estimating, cost control and tracking of the installation works on site.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Track and manage contracts and associated budgets.
  • Prepare variations, claims and generating reports.
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
  • Generate timely reports.
  • Experience in developing claims in FIDIC contracts would be a major advantage
What you’ll get in return:
Salary will be in the region of £50,000 – £60,000, which will be fully negotiable depending on experience, along with a full benefits package, including Accommodation and Travel, working on a rotational basis.
