Senior Health & Safety Advisor

Who you’ll be working for:
A leading construction main contractor, working on large scale civil / utilities projects across Northern Ireland, have a current requirement for an experienced, Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join their Belfast based team.

The role will predominately be based in the Belfast office with a small amount of travel throughout Ireland.

What you’ll need to have:
The successful candidate will hold a recognized SHEQ qualification (Degree / NEBOSH), a minimum of 4 years SHEQ experience, with preferable experience with a main contractor working on Telecoms/Civil engineering projects being advantageous.

It is crucial that candidates have a full, clean driving license, excellent planning, organizational, training, teamwork and presentation skills, along with excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

What you’ll be doing:
We have a current opportunity for a qualified, experienced Health & Safety (SHEQ) Advisor to join a growing organisation. You will play a vital role, working with an award-winning team of professionals, taking responsibility for maintaining and implementing the safety and environmental management controls and procedures within the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare safety and environmental documentation to support the Integrated Management System.
  • Prepare Safety & Environmental Plans for various projects in line with client and SLA’s / KPI’s.
  • Lead and direct advisors and coordinators within the department.
  • Work with Divisional Management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of Divisional specific SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Prepare safety and environmental reports as required
  • Conduct safety and environment audits including the management and maintenance of the audit tracker
  • Prepare and deliver training courses including training assessments
  • Maintain the various SHEQ registers within the Integrated Management System
  • Daily/weekly reporting to the SHEQ Director and project management staff
  • Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes
  • Provide SHEQ advice and direction to staff and contractors
What you’ll get in return:
Salary will be in the region of £35,000 - £45,000 + Full package.
